Chants To The Indweller

Chants To The Indweller

by Kitzie | Jul 29, 2020 | Kirtan/Meditation Circle, New World Kirtan Podcast

I try not to talk much about politics on the New World Kirtan Podcast. But most of you know we live in Oregon, and this week I’d like to address the protests happening in Portland. We’re about an hour and a half south of Portland & have friends & family...
The Great Invocation

The Great Invocation

by Kitzie | Jul 22, 2020 | Kirtan/Meditation Circle, New World Kirtan Podcast

The ‘Great Invocation’ is a World Prayer, an invocation for light and love. It’s an ancient formula for the use of mankind to invoke the energies which will change our world. Originally written in 1945, it has been translated into many languages & is used daily by...
Hanuman; A River Of Grace

Hanuman; A River Of Grace

by Kitzie | Jul 15, 2020 | Deity Themes, Kirtan/Meditation Circle, New World Kirtan Podcast

I played this week’s set several weeks ago for our Friday virtual Satsang — it’s dedicated to Hanuman, and it’s one I’ve been using a lot in the process of healing my body after hip replacement surgery. In difficult situations, it helps me if I remember to turn things...
Chants To Help You Sleep

Chants To Help You Sleep

by Kitzie | May 12, 2020 | Kirtan/Meditation Circle, New World Kirtan Podcast

I got some very good news this week — my hip replacement surgery has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 13 — that’s tomorrow! So I’ve been gearing back up — listening to chants for healing & guided meditations for surgery. I’ll be taking a break for a few...

Prayers For Peace: The Shanti Mantras

by Kitzie | Apr 27, 2020 | Kirtan/Meditation Circle, New World Kirtan Podcast

This week’s set is one I played for our Friday Satsang a week ago, and it’s a collection of Shanti Mantras, Hindu prayers for peace found in the Upanishads. A Friday Satsang set always begins with Jane Winther’s Om chant from her CD Mantra. Then we have...

I’ve found that it’s hard for me to go to sleep, or relax when anxieties make my brain wired, without this podcast comfortably in the background. It helps so much with letting my mind go, and I’ve found a lot of new artists through NWK to add to my growing kirtan playlist.

Thanks for introducing us to all of this amazing music!

I love this podcast. It introduced me to Snatam Kaur and Ragani, as well as Wade Imry Morrisette. Themes like all Gayatri, energizing kirtan, and songs to soothe make it a valued meditative tool that can be replayed over and over. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
