Shiva has always been a difficult deity energy for me to get my mind around. He is both the creator and the destroyer — what’s that about? After doing this interview with Blue Spirit Wheel’s Ian Boccio, I can now hold this deity in a different place — he’s still elusive but what he represents is supposed to be hard to grasp. This week Ian also tells us about the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya’, and how chanting it causes our consciousness to expand. It’s interesting stuff, and I’ve followed the interview with several ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ chants.
The New World Kirtan Band has started a partnership with our local Unitarian Fellowship to play once a month for a special Sunday evening service — last Sunday was the first one. Sixty five people came — Wow! This was my first kirtan playing the new Bhava harmonium from Old Delhi Music, and it was a joy — I’ll tell you why in this week’s podcast. New World Kirtan listeners get 5% off their purchase at Old Delhi Music, enter nwk at checkout.
There’s a lot of fun stuff coming up, can’t wait to share it all with you. Until next week — Namaste.
