Festivals like Shakti Fest have a curious effect on those who go — after every festival it feels as though we’ve been somehow re-wired, and it’s hard to come back from that blissful place. The trick is to not come back, but to stay in the bliss through living ordinary life — the work of a lifetime.
I could use many superlatives about the music at Shakti Fest, but let’s just say it was really, really good. So many performers who were tentative last year owned the stage this year, and it was exciting to see their growth. The chant I’m including this week is by one of the artists who broke through for me, their set at Shakti Fest was electrifying.
I’m so looking forward to my next excursion into the Bhav. I’ll be taking you with me to Bhakti Fest Midwest at the end of next month my friends, so stay tuned. Namaste.
