I don’t know a lot about the mythology of the Hindu gods, but being involved in an artistic pursuit (voice acting) always has me searching for the elusive muse. Saraswati fits the bill. She represents purity and creativity, especially in the context of communication. She is usually pictured seated on a white lotus or swan which symbolizes she is founded in the experience of Absolute Truth. Go Saraswati! You can read more about Saraswati here.
The song following me around this week is called, not suprisingly, “Saraswati Ma” from Dave Stringer’s CD “Mala”. It really set the tone for the whole set, including the bonus track by Jaya Lakshmi . . . a new artist for me, but one I must hear more of.
Sing joyfully. Namaste.
