Here’s how we use the set for our satsang on Sunday evening here in Oregon.  Our group arrives at the Yoga studio about fifteen minutes early, and gets ready for satsang by lighting candles & setting out cushions.  We’ll get settled, and start singing with the chant “OM”.  A breathing meditation is next, to get our minds & bodies in the right place.  Some of the pranayama breathing exercises by Shiva Rae are very good for this.  After the breathing, we begin to sing the songs in the set together, and will continue until about halfway through, when we’ll stop chanting to listen to a reading by Adyashanti.  Sometimes someone in the group will do a reading. Then we’ll sing through to the end of the set.  We pause between each song to experience where the chant has taken us.  Our Sunday satsang is a very sweet way to start the week, and we have a community forming now around the love of singing kirtan.

And here’s another thought about how to use the podcast.  I’ve discovered the set makes a great music accompaniment for a walk.  I find the world looks different when I walk to kirtan, as I’m more open to the power of the Divine around me.  Give it a try and let me know how you like it.

Have a great week!  Namaste.
