‘Songs for Sid’ originally posted back in December, and was my attempt to express in music my emotional ride with the death of a beloved family dog. Sid’s podcast rated a redux because his presence has been felt recently–my sister’s family lost their family dog last week; this week we cleaned up the garden that was Sid’s domain for so long and found toys he had buried. I don’t know if I was able to comfort my sis–there’s just no getting around that empty dog bed–but now I have the awareness that Sid has become part of my memory. It gives me joy to think of him, not sadness., and there’s the sense that something has turned. Life has moved, and life is good. Jai Ma.
