One of my all-time favorite books is “The Velveteen Rabbit”, and getting to “real” has been a personal & professional goal.    Sometimes it’s a moving target.  The practice that grounds me in what is really real is meditation.  There is a quiet center where YOU is shining, and that YOU speaks in an authentic voice.  It is also YOU when kirtan lifts your voice to sing with a joyous heart.  Let it sing this week with the songs in the podcast.  Namaste.

The Breath Of Lakshm?

Om Shr?m Mahalakshmiyai Namaha

When we work with the awareness that Lakshm? personifies the fullness of life, we begin to enter the sublime realm of this deity field. Lakshm? is the fullness of life in all its fertile darkness and magnificent light. Think about what it means to dive into this fullness, embracing the sheer hugeness of it all.
As you contemplate the presence of Lakshm?, imagine that as you breathe in, you breathe in this fullness. And as you breathe out, you move into it. Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out, opening wider and wider, deeper and deeper, moving into this inexhaustible vitality, life force, and grace. This is the breath of Lakshm?.
You can take this practice deeper by repeating the Lakshm?-bija-mantra silently, coordinating it with your breath.
