Every once & awhile a chant will follow me around for weeks, and sometimes it suggests a theme for the podcast. The chant haunting me lately is “Amma” from Larisa Stowe & Shakti Tribe’s “Reaching In”. Amma means mother–and it’s especially poignant for me this week as my youngest son leaves for college. I know it’s the season, it’s time, and it’s good for him & me both–we have bright, sparkling futures awaiting us. Still, it’s a passage that’s both sad & happy, and one that I need to feel, grieve & release. The chants I chose for the podcast this week soothe me on a deep level, and it was a blessing to be able to sing them with dear friends on Sunday night. Kirtan heals all. Namaste.
